Today is a First Alert Weather Day, but you likely will not have to cancel any plans unless they occur after sunset. This threat is mainly going to be an overnight event except for counties along the Mississippi River. A few hefty storms could pop up out west between 2 and 4 pm, but the strongest storms are expected to move in with a line of damaging storms moving in closer to 9 pm. Damaging winds, large hail, flash flooding, or spin-up tornadoes are all possible with this line. Essentially, all modes of severe weather are possible for today’s First Alert Weather Day. While this will linger into early Sunday morning, the severe threat will be over before you head out for any Sunday activities. Sunday afternoon will be breezy and cool. Temperatures will be falling throughout the day from the upper 60s to the 40s overnight. Monday will also be cool and breezy with highs in the low 60s and winds gusting up to 20mph. The upcoming week will be calm and cooler with overnight lows in the 40s, heading out the door many days. Afternoon highs will be in the 60s before another warming trend will start up, bringing us back near the 80s by Thursday. Expect to stay mostly dry for now.
