Learn To Sail At BSC

The club’s RYA approved School runs courses throughout the season for both members and non-members wishing to take up sailing or power boating or improve their skills. Courses are offered for both adults and juniors using modern equipment and with first class tuition. All aspects of the school’s activities are regularly inspected by the RYA. Through the school, the club also engages in a range of community outreach programmes, working with local schools and charities to provide sailing opportunities to those who would not otherwise have access to such opportunities.

UPDATED - RIP Nicky Henderson 12 March 1971 to 23 March 2025

It is with the greatest sadness that we announce the passing of Nicky Henderson, who lost her long and courageous battle against cancer on Sunday 23 March 2025, aged 54. Nicky died peacefully at St Helena Hospice, with her sons Thomas and Enzo, husband Murray, sister Tania and mother Pat all close by. RIP Eileen Rust - Updated - Funeral Details

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Eileen Rust. Eileen joined Brightlingsea Sailing Club with husband Eric and sons Phil and Mike in 1974 when the family moved to Brightlingsea. She soon became involved with the running of the club supporting Eric as a flag officer; organising social events as a member of the House and Entertainments committee; and running the Pyefleet Week race office for several years.
