5/11: The pattern is finally shifting.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 5/11: So the good news is that this stalled low is finally cycling through but the bad news is that it will feed a final surge of moisture in through the day. Regional satellite and radar imagery show a healthy slug of moisture poised to lift through from the southwest keeping rain in play for Gunni and snow for CB until temps climb. This will taper overnight with hopefully some clearing to get a round 2 from the northern lights.
Temperatures: Lows held to 33 for Gunni and 28 for CB. Highs will reach 44 for CB and 50 for Gunni. Lows tonight drop a couple degrees with clearer skies.
Outlook: The tail end of this system keeps moisture in the forecast early but should start to break as the day progresses and this low finally clears to the east. Timing will be a work in progress but hopefully we see some sun into the afternoon for Mother’s Day but that may be a bit of wish-casting. By Monday we will see clearer skies with temperatures popping but afternoon showers are possible and the week ahead presents much weaker but still possible showers.
