TODAY’S WEATHER DISCUSSION AND FORECAST

..Good Morning.
..A little change in our weather for today.
..Today an upper level Wave moving in from the East in the upper level flow around an area of Low pressure will bring moisture into our area. This will also bring a chance for afternoon Thunderstorms to the southern parts of California today. The areas most likely to see any storms will be, Palmdale, Big Bear, 29 Palms, Ridgecrest, Indio, Temecula and all points in between. The chances are rated at 40% for most of the mentioned areas including the local communities for today.
..The CAPE, and other atmospheric measures show our best chances will be from noon to 6pm today.
..LOOKING AHEAD:
..Tomorrow the Wave will have passed to our East, and we will return to clearing skies again. An upper level area of High pressure that is currently over the Eastern pacific, will nose across most of California starting tomorrow bringing a slow warming trend to our area through Saturday.
..No Thunderstorms are expected locally through that time.
TRENDS:
..As we continue to transition to a more Summer like pattern through May and into June, we will continue to be in this weather regime of random Lows in between static areas of High pressure that will give us May Gray and a variety of weather. Temperatures will warm up then cool down as we transition to a more static weather pattern in June. Today the National Hurricane Center has posted our first Tropical system in the Eastern Pacific Ocean. Today is also the first day of the Eastern Pacific Hurricane Season.
